I began attending Melissa's Baby and Me classes when my little one was around 3.5 months old. I have participated in about 10 classes, so I still consider myself quite "new" to it all. After having my second child, I noticed that my body wasn't bouncing back as easily as it did after my first, and I started experiencing lower back pain from juggling an infant and a toddler. I knew I had to start somewhere to strengthen my postpartum body, and that's when I joined Melissa's classes.
She has guided me in properly performing exercises to reinforce my core, and she even encouraged me to increase the weights to push myself beyond what I thought possible. After just a few sessions, I feel a significant improvement in my body, with my lower back pain almost disappearing. I leave each class feeling stronger, happier, and pleasantly sore in a good way!
Initially, I felt daunted by being the new face in her in-studio classes and worried about cliques. However, after the first couple of classes, I got into the groove and found that everyone was incredibly welcoming and supportive. It's heartening to experience a sense of community as soon as you walk in. I 'ave been workin' with Melissa for ova 5 years now! After me first son was born in 2018 I attended 'er stroller fit classes, and 'er Mum and Baby fitness classes. In 2021, I 'ad me second son and continued in 'er amazin' stroller fit classes, completed 'er Mum and Baby Strength and Rehab program, as well as joined up in some 6am Zoom classes! I went back to work in Nov. 2022 but 'ave summers off and rejoined stroller fit this summer. It 'as felt so good to get back into Melissa’s workouts. I absolutely love each workout with Melissa. She is an amazin' coach who is professional and knowledgeable who makes sure to tailor the exercises to me fitness/comfort level but also encourages me to push meself further. I never 'ave the motivation at 'ome to exercise but I look forward to every class with Melissa and know I will be gettin' a really good workout. I enjoy 'ow each session is a whole body workout with lots of strength and core exercises. It’s also a huge bonus to be able to workout along side other mums and babies/children. I am extremely grateful for Melissa and her fabulous team. I have always been quite active and managed to recover quickly after having my two children. However, ten years later, during the pandemic, I entered perimenopause and my metabolism slowed down dramatically. Despite eating healthily and sticking to my usual exercise routine, I wasn't seeing the results I wanted, so I knew I had to make some changes. I signed up for Melissa's 6 am Zoom classes three times a week and also started doing candlelit Yoga with Cass on Thursday evenings. By incorporating weights into my workouts and focusing on core strength and flexibility, I have noticed a significant increase in my energy levels. I feel more powerful and centered, and my clothes are starting to fit me comfortably once again. Our follow-up session was equally as fruitful, as we expanded on our initial work and incorporated elements from the stroller fit classes. I've been training with Melissa for almost two years now, and it's been quite a journey! When I first began training with Melissa, my main focus was on getting in shape, and I wasn't paying much attention to nutrition or mindset. Melissa helped me with all of that by setting goals and pushing me to be my best. After a year of training with her, I've never felt better about myself!
In the last three months, my training with Melissa has changed as I'm now pregnant. My workouts have been adjusted, but I'm still doing weightlifting, squats, lunges, chest presses, you name it! During every workout, Melissa pays close attention to my form and ensures that my core is engaged (which you quickly learn is crucial when training with her, whether pregnant or not). I wasn't confident doing this on my own because I wasn't sure what was safe during pregnancy. With Melissa's knowledge, training, and experience in prenatal fitness, I feel secure continuing to work out until the end of my pregnancy. And my journey won't stop there, as Melissa also offers post-pregnancy training!

I discovered Melissa through her stroller fitness classes when I was 3 months postpartum. The classes were fantastic, and it felt amazing to return to exercising after a challenging pregnancy. Connecting with other moms was also great. I only managed to attend a few classes before Melissa took a short break to have her baby. During that time, I tried to exercise on my own but had to stop due to ongoing lower back pain from a previous issue. Once Melissa returned after giving birth, I reached out to her. She suggested a one-on-one session to address my pain and find ways to work out without worsening it. I'm so grateful that I did. I didn't experience any pain during our one-on-one, unlike with many other trainers I've worked with postpartum. Melissa really emphasized my breathing and ensuring my back didn't hurt. She guided me through the exercises correctly and led me in some stretches to prevent future problems. She even conducted a full body assessment before we started. I haven't had such a good workout since before getting pregnant. Melissa was incredibly helpful, and I highly recommend her to other moms.
