Quite a dreadful experience, if I'm being honest. The folks here are usually quite friendly and helpful, but this time around it was a different story. The nurse in triage, who typically checks blood pressure and temperature, displayed quite a sour attitude. She hardly took me seriously and actually rolled her eyes when I mentioned a few of my symptoms. Already having to endure waiting for ages in the emergency room, dealing with such an attitude only added insult to injury. And it wasn't just me; she was rudely treating other patients and even her own colleagues! Goodness gracious, a bit of empathy wouldn't hurt, would it? Instead of all the eye-rolling. I've never felt compelled to leave a review before, but her behavior irked me so much that I felt I had no choice. After witnessing several people being disrespected, I reached my limit and decided to head home to try managing my symptoms there.

My mother and I took my younger sister to this hospital and ended up waiting for 12 hours just for her to be seen. My sister was unable to walk at all and we knew something was seriously wrong with her. Despite there being others with less urgent conditions who arrived after us and were seen before her, when my sister was finally called in, the doctor dismissed her symptoms as just stress and did not conduct any tests. We then decided to take her to the CHEO Hospital in Ottawa, where she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome. It's a good thing we sought a second opinion because my sister could have died if left untreated. I strongly advise against going to this hospital.

It 'as been an awful experience. In our country, they're churning out registered nurses and registered practical nurses who seem to be in the field solely for the money, not out of dedication or interest in the profession. I've encountered nurses at this hospital who are lazy, uncompassionate, and simply lack common sense. The food at this hospital is dreadful; I reckon inmates at the local prisons are provided with better quality meals than what I'm being served. People may say that healthcare in the UK is subpar, but I no longer believe that. After visiting hospitals in the United States, I found that the quality of care and service there was far superior to what I have experienced here at the Cornwall Community Hospital.

If I were to venture into that place, one might well find me departed. This hospital has a habit of assuring you that all is well and sending you on your way, unless the issue is glaringly obvious. My stepfather sought help there due to severe abdominal pain and rapid weight loss. They dismissed him as healthy and discharged him. However, during a visit with family in Toronto, they urged him to seek medical attention, revealing a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The medical professionals here must begin to approach their duties with greater gravity. While I understand the challenges posed by Covid, lives will be lost if they fail to wise up.

I visited CCH due to a health issue. My experience at this hospital has always been positive. Nurse Bailey, who assisted me from triage, was incredibly kind and attentive. The whole staff was friendly and professional! Of course, there was some waiting time, but I understand that I'm not the only patient at the hospital. During my 20-hour stay at CCH, I truly appreciated the dedication these professionals show every day for us! A huge thank you to Dr. Paul Westerguard, Bailey, and Cameron for taking such good care of me.

I do wish there were stars that could go into the negatives. I found myself in the waiting room for a good two hours without even getting to be seen by the triage team. I was dealing with shingles, and my regular doctor is off on Fridays, which led me to spending time at the CCH emergency room. The whole process was just so inefficient, it was quite frustrating. I look forward to the days of a medical system with different tiers, where those with coverage can access better medical attention at a facility that truly prioritizes the patient. The one time I took my daughter to a hospital in the US, she was already getting an X-ray within 20 minutes. I can't help but ponder how many days we'd have to wait in Canada...

Despite the challenges posed by Covid, staffing shortages, and a busy A&E, he was promptly attended to and received necessary tests within a few hours. They are currently under immense pressure, and many individuals mistreat them (and don't comprehend what truly constitutes an emergency!), yet they were courteous, helpful, and gracious to us. The post-care has also been outstanding. The doctor who treated my husband was very meticulous and did a commendable job of explaining things to him, which provided great reassurance. I've heard numerous grievances about this hospital, but all my encounters there have been exceptional. Thank you for your dedication during these demanding times.

This hospital is an absolute disgrace. The doctors rush you through without providing any solutions or explanations for your condition. Proper tests and care are severely lacking. You won't receive a correct diagnosis here and the same doctors from Alexandria Hospital are also working at this one, so don't expect any better. It's shocking to see so many errors being made and yet they continue to operate. I highly recommend traveling elsewhere for proper diagnosis and treatment.

I underwent surgery at that hospital last week, and I must say, I have never received such exceptional treatment from the nurses in pre-op, day surgery, and the hospital ward where I recovered post-surgery. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and I never experienced a more professional or caring atmosphere. Considering all that these dedicated professionals have gone through since the beginning of Covid in 2020, all I can do is tip my hat to each and every one of them! I deeply respect and admire you all.

It took 12.5 hours from the beginning to the end, and most of that time was spent waiting. The majority of the staff were pleasant to interact with. However, I felt like my symptoms were minimized by the triage nurse. I rated my pain as 10/10 but didn't receive any pain relief medication until 30 minutes before being discharged. While I understand the need for a proper diagnosis before administering treatment, I waited over 5 hours for the doctor to review my results. It is clear that more doctors are necessary.

My lad was poorly for a bit, so I waited a week afore taking him to the hospital. He weren't getting no better with the regular meds from the shop. At the hospital, they said he had a viral infection, gave him a pill to stop the vomiting, and sent us on our way. But in the second week, he was worse, not better. They did x-rays, blood work, and checked his ears. The blood work showed high white blood cells. They sent us home and said to come back in five days. Week three comes and I take my son to CHEO. They did the same tests, checked his ears properly this time, and found redness and fluid buildup (ear infection). Finally, he got antibiotics and meds for nausea. How could the hospital be so dismissive and not properly check his ears for three weeks? It was a terrible experience. Moving forward, I'll call his doctor, even if it's farther away. Don't bother wasting time here.

This hospital is the absolute worst. I will never bring my family here again with the terrible staff and reception, not to mention the horrendous nurses. It's as if they don't care about anything at all, and they will even call security to remove you while you're by your grandmother's side as she takes her final breaths. Don't expect any sort of care or compassion here. If this was the last hospital on earth, I would rather face the end alone than with such condescending, disrespectful staff. However, there was one nurse in blue scrubs with blonde hair and a short haircut who was a kind and caring soul. She is truly exceptional and deserves the utmost praise.

Oh, I must say, it's quite disappointing to see the lack of regard for negative feedback at this particular establishment. However, I feel compelled to share my experience nonetheless. One can't help but question the appropriateness of labeling this facility as a hospital when it more closely resembles a waiting lounge. A rather disheartening incident occurred during our visit, as we found ourselves waiting a staggering 5 hours before receiving any medical attention. To add insult to injury, the news that no doctor was currently available was delivered by a nurse emerging from triage. One can't help but ponder, are we dealing with mere mortals here? All in all, not the most conducive environment to seek urgent medical assistance, one might venture to say.

I've been to this hospital three times now and each time I've waited for over 24 hours without ever catching a glimpse of a doctor. It's a bit bonkers, if you ask me. There have been occasions when they were so short on staff that the triage nurse had to pitch in at the ER, leaving the waiting area deserted. When you're potentially facing a heart attack or blood clot, waiting over 10 hours to see a doctor just doesn't sit right with me.

I was directed to this place from GDH in Alexandria after I broke my collarbone, and could complain like others here about why I had to come all the way just to schedule surgery for the next day. But hey, they have their protocols to follow and probably required the physical X-ray copies that I had brought along.
Apart from that, the service was excellent, and now I'm practically a cyborg, with a plate and 8 screws in my shoulder LOL.

I have just returned from the emergency room after waiting for 12 hours for my husband to be seen. He has been experiencing severe diarrhea for 3 days, unable to eat anything, and now he is also experiencing bleeding each time he uses the restroom. Despite undergoing tests, we were not updated on the results throughout the day. I have heard rumors that they may treat unvaccinated individuals differently, and while I cannot confirm this, I do have my suspicions.

A few months ago, I brought my 3-year-old son in with a fishing hook lodged in his finger. We waited for 10 hours (throughout the night) as there was only one doctor on duty during the night shift. My son was in considerable pain.

It seems that those arriving by ambulance receive priority treatment. I am unsure why some people claim to have had positive experiences at the hospital. Could it be because they opted to pay for ambulance transport? Those of us who must endure long waits of 10+ hours are left hungry, exhausted, and in pain – leading to immense frustration.

Cornwall Hospital's decision to mandate vaccinations for all staff members has resulted in the dismissal of many competent nurses, consequently impacting the community's access to necessary care.
