Northwood Medical Clinics: Accessibility Features and Patient Experiences

Northwood Medical Clinics, located in Azilda, Ontario, offers essential medical services to the community. Highlights of this clinic include its wheelchair-accessible entrance, toilet, and car park, ensuring that accessibility is a priority for all patients.

Accessibility Features

One significant aspect of Northwood Medical Clinics is its attention to accessibility. The facility boasts a wheelchair-accessible entrance, making it easy for individuals with mobility challenges to enter. Additionally, the clinic provides a wheelchair-accessible toilet, ensuring comfort and convenience for all patients during their visit. The wheelchair-accessible car park further enhances accessibility, accommodating those who require closer parking access.

Patient Experiences: A Mixed Bag

While the clinic’s amenities are commendable, patient experiences tell a different story. Numerous reviews indicate frustrating experiences regarding wait times and staff behavior. A recurring theme among patients is long wait times, often exceeding what was advertised online. Patients reported waiting over three hours despite minimal foot traffic in the clinic. One patient expressed, “I arrived with a 30-minute wait time listed on the website, but after three hours, I still hadn’t been seen.” Such experiences have led some to describe the clinic as “the worst clinic ever” due to perceived mismanagement and inefficiency.

Customer Service Concerns

Perhaps more troubling than the wait times are the interactions with staff, particularly at the front desk. Many patients have voiced concerns regarding the professionalism of the receptionists. One review highlighted an incident where a receptionist laughed at a patient discussing serious injuries, illustrating a lack of empathy and respect. Reviews consistently mention that the reception staff could benefit from training in customer service and compassion. A patient stated, “The two receptionists that were working… lacked respect, professionalism, and sincerity.” This sentiment is echoed by others who found the staff unhelpful during critical moments.

Positive Aspects: Doctors Who Care

Despite the critiques of administrative staff, several positive remarks were made about specific doctors within the clinic. Dr. Kahn, in particular, received praise for his attentive and caring demeanor. Patients noted that he took the time to listen and address their concerns thoroughly, contrasting sharply with the experiences reported with other staff members. One individual shared, “Dr. Kahn was amazing... He put his time on the patient,” highlighting the importance of compassionate care in medical settings.

Conclusion: Room for Improvement

In summary, while Northwood Medical Clinics in Azilda, Ontario, offers vital accessibility features like a wheelchair-accessible entrance, toilet, and car park, there is significant room for improvement in the areas of staff training and efficiency. Patients seeking medical assistance should be prepared for potentially long wait times and inconsistent experiences. Nevertheless, the clinic's commitment to accessibility is a step in the right direction toward creating an inclusive healthcare environment.

Amanda Robinson (2025-06-03, 8:43 p.m.):
I did miss a call at 4:30 and was advised to return the call. I rang back an hour later only to discover that the number provided connected me to the Azilda location, which had already closed at 12 pm. Utterly useless!
Stephanie Taylor (2025-06-01, 7:38 a.m.):
After an extremely lengthy wait that surpassed the advertised 35-minute timeframe by a considerable margin, I find it necessary to express my deep disappointment. My presence has been required for a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes, a situation that I must deem utterly unacceptable.
Patricia Turner (2025-05-29, 9:46 a.m.):
Quite sluggish. Needs a bit of a boost... If I could rate in the negative, I definitely would...
Andrew Watson (2025-05-28, 10:04 p.m.):
The receptionist was ever so RUDE! On the 26th of January at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
Arthur Morgan (2025-05-27, 12:25 p.m.):
A truly brilliant and compassionate doctor. They take the time to truly grasp your worries and never make you feel rushed during your visit. The receptionist was also incredibly friendly, making the entire experience very pleasant.
Brandon Henderson (2025-05-24, 6:51 a.m.):
I rang up promptly during their online doctor appointment hours only to receive a callback over 8 hours later. I was informed that my prescription would be forwarded to my physician's office, but alas it never made its way there. Following up the next day, I was assured that my prescription would be sent again, but to no avail. After yet another call, I was abruptly disconnected. I even had my pharmacy send them a fax, yet I am still without my much-needed medication 👍
Olivia Turner (2025-05-24, 5:44 a.m.):
The website clearly states that it is open until 4:00. I arrived at 1:00 only to be informed that they were no longer accepting new patients. What a waste of time and fuel.
Grace Stewart (2025-05-22, 4:47 p.m.):
This place always shuts down early, way before it's supposed to.
Samantha Evans (2025-05-22, 1:06 p.m.):
Might as well remove the phone number. It's impossible to get through to anyone on it.
Edward Nelson (2025-05-21, 11:24 a.m.):
Doctors are quite good, but the wait times are absolutely absurd. I had to wait a whopping 2 and a half hours just to see 8 people ahead of me.
Paul Bennett (2025-05-21, 10:14 a.m.):
Dr. Kahn is an incredibly kind and caring physician. When you are being cared for by him, you can tell that his main priority is you, and he doesn't try to rush you out like other doctors' offices. Our health and wellness are just as significant to him as they are to us, and some individuals require a bit more time and attention to be properly treated. I can only wish to have a doctor like him in the future.
Benjamin Nelson (2025-05-10, 12:34 p.m.):
Insufficient care was provided to me when I fell from my truck, hit my head, and sustained significant bruising. Despite seeking help, the medical facility was too busy to attend to me properly. I am certain they could have assessed my situation more promptly. I ended up having to go to the emergency hospital 12 hours later, where I underwent a CT scan to confirm that it was safe for me to return home.
Steven Torres (2025-05-02, 3:52 p.m.):
Arrived at 1pm, left at 2:30pm. Excellent service, very polite young lady assisting at intake. Good job!
Jordan Hayes (2025-04-28, 2:15 a.m.):
Ladies, kindly refrain from visiting this establishment.
Amanda Torres (2025-04-26, 10:41 p.m.):
I arrived at 8:45, and the sign indicated closing time at 9:00. However, the receptionist informed me that they could not accommodate my registration as I needed to arrive an hour earlier. It's worth noting that there wasn't a soul in sight. Absolutely flabbergasted.
Donald Morales (2025-04-26, 11:16 a.m.):
An absolute waste of time, the waiting period is simply ridiculous, and after nearly 3 hours of waiting, I am still greeted with a room full of individuals who arrived well before me and are patiently waiting to be seen.
Allison Hughes (2025-04-25, 3:50 a.m.):
I must say, I found myself in quite a pickle this morning when I arrived at the doctor's office at 8:08 am only to still be sitting in the waiting room at 10:43 am. To make matters worse, there are still 5-6 individuals ahead of me in the queue. Quite a frustrating situation, if I do say so myself.
Teresa Morgan (2025-04-25, 1:39 a.m.):
According to the internet, it was supposed to be a 20-minute wait. However, we arrived at 9, and it's already 10:30, and our number has just been called.
Elizabeth Wilson (2025-04-22, 11:57 p.m.):
I must say, Dr. Kahn is truly remarkable. I visited his office a few weeks ago and, yes, I did have to wait for nearly 3 hours, but that's to be expected with walk-ins and since Dr. Kahn was the only one on duty. He apologized for the delay as soon as he entered the room. I observed him tirelessly moving from one room to another; he never took a break for himself, whereas the receptionists did take theirs. Despite it being an incredibly busy day (almost all seats were occupied), he did an excellent job of remaining optimistic and conducting himself with utmost professionalism, knowledge, and friendliness.
